Paintings of Árainn Mhór/Arranmore, Donegal

Arranmore Donegal

I recently join the Stair Árrain Mhór – Árrain Mhór History Facebook group and was overwhelmed by the positive response I received from the members when I put my most recent post online there. I was asked if I had any more paintings of Arranmore for them to see, so here’s a collection of all my paintings of the Island that I have completed in the last two years.

Where it reads (Private Collection) it means that the painting has been sold. I hope you enjoy looking at them.

  1. Superb paintings capturing the essence of the place. Hopefully these will inspire lots of sales:)

    1. Thank you, Janet. Its been a real treat having people who know the island really well see them and comment on them.

  2. Wonderful island visit through your artistry.

    1. Thank you Michael, it was nice to put them all together. It’s sort of an online tour. I have just put them on in reverse order of painting rather than in any geographical order.

  3. These are SO rich! What a pleasure to see them all together!

  4. They are lovely! The private collector from Arranmore must have a fabulous collection 🙂 🙂

  5. Beautiful work as always Emma! I noticed something and got curious? Do you prefer painting a scene without people in it?

    1. Not at all, I just like a landscape to be about the landscape and paintings with people to be about the people. I do paint people but I haven’t done for a long time thank to my broken leg and the pandemic. I think that landscapes with people can look a bit “naff” so I tend not to paint them.

  6. I was born in Arranmore and I LOVE these paintings. Such vivid colours! And the wonderful background! Keep painting Emma!

    1. Thank you so much for your comment, Aidan. It means such a lot to hear kind words from someone who knows the island well!
