Two of several colourful houses on Gola Island off Gweedore in Co. Donegal, Ireland. On the Wild Atlantic Way.  Maybe I should have called this painting the “Happy Houses of Gola”? That’s how they make me feel.  Although many houses on the island have fallen into ruin, many have not.  This is not an abandoned island.  Some houses have lost their roofs and are just walls, many others are well-maintained, painted bright colours and visited in the summer by the families of the island. Here is a cheerful huddle of such homes. I love the combination of pink and mint green.
