Lighthouse at Dunree (Donegal)

£350.00

An acrylic painting on linen canvas.

50x40cm / 20″x16″

Unframed

Early spring . A view of the Lighthouse at Dunree from the back wall. Yes, where’s the lighthouse? You may well ask. The actual “light” is at ground level and is only 6 metres high and so it is no higher than cottage. It cannot be seen from this angle. It all so high up on the cliff it doesnt need a tower. Built in 1876. I was more interested in the sharp spring light and how it illuminated the litchen on the rocks on the dry stone wall that encircles the lighthouse cottage.
