On the Way to Kinnagoe Bay (Drumaweer, Greencastle)

£350.00

An acrylic painting on linen canvas.

Unframed

50x40cm/ 20×16 inches

The long steep road from Quigley’s Point to Kinnagoe Bay passes these limewashed farm buildings on Drumaweer Road (also spelt Drumaweir). Behind the tin-roofed outhouse in the centre of the painting lies a very old thatched cottage that probably dates from the late 18th century.  Read more about this very old building here. Off in the distance you can see the waters of Loch Foyle and the Antrim Plateau. I was drawn to the reflected light on the side of the old outhouse and the way the electricty lines draw the eye down the hill to the Foyle.
