One of the joys of acrylic gouache is that it dries very quickly and is opaque – so it lends itself to this sort of mark making.

  1. I love the way you capture an atmosphere so effectively in your paintings. I’ve never been to this part of the world but I can sense its empty dampness

    1. Similar to Wales really. Just when the gales come they are fierce!

  2. Thank you Ceri – the dampness is different from that in England. Maybe its like the Welsh coast. The weather can be wild but it passes through and often there are sunny breaks. The light and the clouds seem bigger because of the uninterreputed skyscape.
